Your local GP in De Nieuwe Defensie and your first point of contact for medical concerns.

I’m Dionne van Riel – Ulfman, and I’m here to support you in improving both your physical and mental health. As an experienced GP, you can come to me for all standard general practitioner care, as well as minor surgical procedures, chronic lung care, and advice on a healthy lifestyle.

Using the broader approach of Positive Health, I help you deal with physical, emotional, and social challenges in life. Together, we use the “spider web” model to explore six areas: Bodily Functions, Mental Well-being, Meaningfulness, Quality of Life, Participation, and Daily Functioning. This gives us a clear picture of how you’re doing.

I also assess key lifestyle and risk factors that affect our health – especially those linked to heart and vascular diseases (such as heart attacks, heart failure, strokes, and peripheral artery disease), and other chronic conditions like diabetes and chronic lung diseases (such as COPD).

I also use the “Lifestyle Wheel” which covers Nutrition, Exercise, Relaxation, Sleep, Substances, and Connection.

Together, we set goals and look at what you need to achieve them. I offer advice, refer you when needed, keep an overview, and monitor your progress and health. If necessary, we adjust the goals based on your wishes and possibilities.
